Action in Semi-Arid Lands (ASAL) has launched a relief initiative to combat food insecurity in the Bari region’s Bosaso, Caluula, and Qandala districts. This project will support 8,490 households and benefit approximately 50,940 individuals.
Households can choose between Cash-Based Transfers (CBT) or In-Kind (Ik) support. Those opting for CBT will receive $90 through vouchers or mobile money, while those choosing Ik support will receive a food package containing 72 kg of sorghum, 7.2 kg of pulses, and 5.94 kg of vegetable oil.
The assistance, funded by the World Food Programme (WFP), will be provided from May to December 2024 will aim to improve food security in these communities.
